We're very pleased to announce that Turning Tide will be playing at this years Chelmsford Film Festival where we have received an award nomination for 'Best Score!' Congratulations to our composer Marco Cascone for this well deserved recognition!
The film will screen at 11am on Saturday, 8 June 2019 at the Everyman Cinema in Chelmsford, and if you'd like to come along you can purchase a day pass for the festival here...
Last month we were honoured to receive two Best Film awards for Turning Tide from both the Copper Coast International Film Festival in Swansea and the RGU Film Festival in Aberdeen! We were unfortunately unable to attend the events but our enormous thanks goes to the festival and everyone who voted for the film.
After playing in the London Lift-off Film Festival in December, we learned the film had been nominated for Best First-Time Film and Best Post-Production as part of their 2018 Season Awards. So on Friday evening we visited the legendary Pinewood Studios for the ceremony and to our delight, the film was announced as the winner of Best Post-Production. It was a great feeling to have the work recognised and it goes without saying that this aspect of the film, which includes visual effects, colour grading, music and sound, wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of all our backers. Lift-Off released a short video on the event which you can watch here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_ecwLTm1DA
One of the highlights of our entire experience with the film came towards the end of last year, when we attended Cinema in Concerto at the Auditorium Perco della Musica in Rome, to take in a live rendition of the music from Turning Tide! Performed by the prestigious Roma Film Orchestra and closing the Rome Film Fest, the concert featured music from the very best Italian film composers such as Ennio Morricone and our very own Marco Cascone.
Having been unable to attend the original recording session, we were extra excited to hear the music performed live. The orchestra played the piece stunningly, accompanied by a selection of shots from the film projected on a large cinema screen. Our congratulations and thanks go to Marco for doing such an amazing job on the score, and to the Associazione Compositori Musiche per Film (ACMF) for organising such a memorable evening. The event was recorded by a camera crew so we’re hoping we’ll be able to share the performance with you in the near future.
What an incredible week at the awesome Aesthetica Short Film Festival! And to top it all off, Turning Tide was voted the WINNER of the People's Choice Award!! With over 300 amazing films playing at the festival, we're extremely honoured to receive this award, which was voted for by the audiences in attendance! Thanks to Aesthetica for putting on such a brilliant show, and of course a huge thank you to every single person who has been involved in the project so far, this would never have happened without you!
